Here at Kilminorth, community has always been at the heart of what we do. We are lucky to be tucked away in our own peaceful corner of Cornwall, surrounded by countryside, woodland and open space, but we are also incredibly proud to be part of the wider Looe community.
Living and working so close to the coast means the sea is part of everyday life. It shapes the landscape, the people, the stories and the rhythm of the area. For coastal towns like Looe, the RNLI is more than a charity. It is a vital part of the community, providing lifesaving support, reassurance and protection to those who live, work and spend time on the water.
That is why we are so proud to be supporting Looe Lifeboat Station through a series of events at Kilminorth this year. The RNLI has been saving lives at sea for generations. It is powered by courage, dedication, volunteers, supporters and donations. The work they do is often unseen by many of us until the moment it is needed, but for coastal communities, their presence is deeply valued. From responding to emergencies to promoting water safety, the RNLI plays an essential role in keeping people safe.
This year, we wanted to create events that not only raise funds, but also bring people together. Events that feel relaxed, welcoming and full of Kilminorth spirit, while supporting a charity that means so much to our local area.
Our first RNLI fundraising event of the year is Music in the Meadow with True Foxes on 22nd May, and what a brilliant night it will be! The evening plans to have everything we love about Kilminorth events. Live music drifting through the valley, families gathered together, children playing, dogs enjoying the open space, good food, laughter and that lovely feeling of community.
True Foxes will bring such an incredible atmosphere to the meadow, and it will be the perfect way to begin our RNLI fundraising events. It’s the kind of evening where people can catch up, relax, enjoy the music and know that by being here, they will be helping support an incredible cause.

Our second RNLI event is the Arts & Crafts Fair on 2nd August. This will be a lovely daytime event, celebrating local creativity while raising funds for Looe Lifeboat Station. We are looking forward to welcoming makers, artists, small businesses, locals, guests and visitors for a day of browsing, chatting and supporting the RNLI.

Arts and crafts fairs have such a lovely community feel. They give people a chance to discover something handmade, meet the people behind the stalls and enjoy a slower, more personal kind of shopping experience. Bringing that to Kilminorth, in support of the RNLI, feels like a perfect fit.
Then, on 22nd August, we are proud to host RNLI Presents the PROMS. This promises to be another memorable evening, bringing people together through music, celebration and shared support for Looe Lifeboat Station. Proms-style events always carry such a sense of occasion, and we know this will be a special night in the Kilminorth calendar.

What we love most about these events is that they are not just about fundraising, although of course that is incredibly important. They are about connection. They are about people coming together in support of something meaningful. They are about celebrating the role the RNLI plays in our local area and showing our appreciation in the way Kilminorth does best, through relaxed, welcoming and feel-good events.
For us, supporting the RNLI also feels personal to place. Kilminorth may be set in the countryside, but we are only a short distance from Looe, the harbour and the coastline. Many of our guests come here because they love Cornwall, the sea, coastal walks, beach days and the charm of our local towns. The RNLI helps protect those very places and the people who enjoy them.
Looe Lifeboat Station is part of the fabric of the local community. The volunteers give their time, skill and bravery to help others, often in difficult and unpredictable conditions. Supporting them is a way of giving back to the place we are lucky enough to call home. We are also really proud that our RNLI events are suitable for guests staying on-site, local families, visitors and those who simply want to experience Kilminorth while supporting a good cause. You do not need to be staying with us to come along. Our events are open to the wider community, and we love seeing familiar faces alongside new ones.
There is something quite powerful about a charity event that does not feel formal or forced. A family evening in a meadow, a creative fair, a music-filled celebration, these are all simple, joyful ways to raise money and awareness. They make supporting charity feel natural, enjoyable and rooted in everyday community life. We hope this year’s RNLI events continue to grow that sense of togetherness. We hope people leave feeling that they have enjoyed something special, supported an incredible charity and experienced a little bit of Kilminorth magic along the way.
Together, we can help raise funds for Looe Lifeboat Station and celebrate the amazing work of the RNLI.
