To say that Kilminorth is dog-friendly is an understatement. In fact, we're completely mad about dogs! We've purposefully-designed features and facilities in our cottages and around the grounds to accommodate your four-legged friends.
We believe that dogs are part of the family. And so, instead of having to arrange for expensive boarding or sitting for your dog, we would love for you to bring them along for your next holiday to Cornwall.
Most our cottages at Kilminorth are dog-friendly so you can bring your dog(s) with you without having to worry. The cottages are cosy, stylish and perfect for self-catering breaks to Cornwall.
We have 14 beautiful cottages to choose from, many of which have their own private terraces and gardens. Just ask us for our best recommendations if you're bringing a four-legged friend with you.
When you arrive to Kilminorth, you can expect a very warm welcome from the team. Come and see us in reception to grab the keys for your cottage and we'll be there to meet you.
All dogs receive a welcome pack on arrival too, which includes dog-friendly soap, a towel, treat, poo bags, an info sheet, and a luxury dog bed from Poppy & Teds. Plus, you'll get a Kilminorth-branded tag, in case your pooch goes walkabout whilst they're on holiday and can find their way home.
We've actually built a dedicated doggy shower station, perfect for washing off those muddy paws before heading back to your cottage for a snooze by the fire!
You'll find a dog towel and soap in your welcome but just pop into reception if you need anything else.
Newly-added in 2023 is Marley's Bar. Affectionally-named after our late pup Marley, the bar overlooks the valley and is the perfect spot in the afternoon for a walk and a bit of relaxation.
We also stock a range of dog-friendly treats, ice-cream and even doggy beer if your dog needs a refresher!
One of the most exciting parts of Kilminorth for a dog owner is the ample and varied walking routes, right on the doorstep of your cottage. We have 32 acres of grounds for you to explore, including wild meadows, plenty of grassy fields and if that's not enough, Kilminorth Woods are just down the hill. There is also a lovely 40 minute walk into Looe that you can enjoy, with several colour-coded routes to follow, so you could have a different walk every day of your holiday.
All of our cottages are dog-friendly, and with so many facilities already on-site, it means that bringing your dog to your wedding can be a highly enjoyable experience, rather than a stressful one. Plus, you won't have to worry about leaving them behind or hiring someone to take care of them.
In case you hadn't realised by now, we absolutely love dogs! And we're strong believers that they should form part of your special day. We've seen dogs in tuxes, doggy ring-bearers, and more! Nothing is off-limits and your dog is welcome to play an active role in your wedding when you get hitched at Kilminorth.

As dog owners ourselves, we know just how important it is for our guests to be able to bring their four-legged friend on holiday. We are incredibly lucky to be located in a very dog-friendly part of the south west.
As we are located in the beautiful Cornish Countryside would would ask all of our guests to follow the rules of The Countryside Code whilst they are staying with us.
Below, you'll find a selection of our favourite walking and leisure spots for your holiday to Cornwall. This list is by no means exhaustive so please ask for recommendations in reception whilst you're visiting if you need some more inspiration.
Please note that in Cornwall, some beaches do prohibit dogs from accessing them from April - October but just ask, and we'll let you know the best spots to head to in the summer months.
Polperro
Seaton Beach
lantic bay
talland beach
Gwynver Beach
Downderry
Treyarnon Bay
There are two beaches here at Talland and direct access to the coastal path.
The main beach does have restrictions during the summer months but the second beach by the Smuggler's Rest cafe is dog-friendly all year round. Talland is just 5 - 10 minutes away in the car from the grounds of Kilminorth.
This large pebble beach overlooks Lyme Bay and stretches for over a mile, perfect for a long sunny walk together.
As part of the historic Jurassic coastline, the gently sloping beach is popular for swimming, and sits between an attractive Victorian town at one end and a beach café at the other.
As you head to the north coast of Cornwall, you will find the vast, expansive sands of Watergate Bay. Protected by high green cliffs along the shoreline, the bay boasts two miles of clean, golden sands.
There are two car parks, with facilities and local places where you can grab a hot drink before your dog walk.
If you are happy for a bit of a hike then you will be rewarded with one of the most stunning views in Cornwall in Lantic Bay.
There is a national trust carpark and upon leaving this you can follow the footpath signs, the great reveal is made as you walk over the brow of the hill, and there below you is a sand and shingle beach in a cove cut into towering cliffs smothered with gorse and windswept hawthorns.
The area is largely unspoilt by commercialism, and is dog-friendly all year round. Sand dunes and low cliffs provide the backdrop for the bay, with low waters, rock pools and a natural swimming pool providing lots of opportunities for water play, both for pets and children.
It is also one of the best family beaches in Padstow
A beautifully secluded beach, whose name echoes Arthurian legend – Guinevere.
The beach is about an 1 hour 40 minute drive from Looe, heading towards Penzance and the far west coast of Cornwall. The area is full of natural beauty, backed with grassy cliffs that hold a spectacular view of the Isles of Scilly.
Supporting local charities in Cornwall is vital for fostering a strong, connected community. One cause close to our hearts is the welfare of dogs, whose companionship and loyalty enrich our lives. By contributing to local animal shelters and rescue groups, we ensure that these beloved animals receive the care and love they deserve. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in our community and the lives of our furry friends.
These are just some incredible charities whose work we love to see and support. If you have a few moments, please check out their incredible work, and if you can support these charities in anyway, please do.

Our dog was made most welcome . Great hot tub for our personal use. Lots of personal touches like dog biscuits and Cornish soap! Jayne made us feel very welcome.
Relax and unwind!
We enjoyed walking our nervous dog around the quiet grounds, stress free for him as well :) the location is fantastic also, only a couple of mins drive to various beaches/ villages.
We will 100% return!
The place was not only clean and hot tub ready, but we had other added treats for our dogs and the best bit was little doggy tags with the sites contact details on, for them to wear during the stay! - what a great thoughtful thing to provide.
Five plus starts all round!
