Kilminorth was such a delightful place to stay – a real home away from home!
The cottage we stayed in was well-equipped, spacious yet cosy, extremely well kept, very clean, and set in the most stunning grounds. Kilminorth as a whole was so peaceful; it has a ‘retreat’ feel, like you’ve just driven to the most friendly mini village you’ve ever set your eyes upon!
Everybody was so welcoming, friendly, and approachable which instantly got you into the relaxing spirit for a few nights away.
There is so much space for dogs to explore, and I particularly loved the addition of the outside dog shower! Such a simple offering, but a great dog-friendly feature. We didn’t need to use it on this visit since we were blessed with lovely weather, however I imagine after exploring Kilminorth Woods down to Looe Harbour (which we’d highly recommend!) during wetter periods, it would most definitely come in handy as we’d have worried about muddy paws entering the gorgeous cottage!
I also loved the addition of the dog towels, and name tag inclusive of Kilminorth’s information. I’d have never have thought of that whilst being on holiday but it was just another simple but thoughtful touch to put you even more at ease during our stay.
Looe itself, though the beach wasn’t dog-friendly at the time of year, the harbour town in general was very dog-friendly. We loved that we could take Margot for a late afternoon walk (approx 40 minutes) into town to grab some evening fish and chips – it made for a lovely afternoon and evening!
The dog welcome info sheet was really helpful as we discovered recommendations for dog-friendly beaches nearby, and from this we headed to Seaton for a late morning stroll (or zoomies in Margot’s case – she loved it!!). It was a really short drive away (approximately 15 minutes) and we enjoyed a delicious lunch at The Beach House, which again was dog-friendly.
In addition to loving Kilminorth in general, I also just wanted to give credit to the really well put together website. Extremely well-designed, user-friendly, and informative – the images are fantastic and a true reflection of Kilminorth. This is all pulled together with the helpful in-cottage tablets which are full of information on events, local numbers, free WIFI, and even local recommendations. This was a really lovely touch for somebody who has never explored the area before – I would likely have not discovered Seaton in particular otherwise!
We were lucky enough to attend during one of the many events I can see that are put on by Kilminorth, which again was a lovely touch to our stay. This is definitely something I’d look out for again in the future as the Paint & Sip and Pilates classes sound amazing! It’s wonderful to know there are options literally right on your doorstep to enjoy as well as just a relax around the pool or a game of tennis or two.
