At Kilminorth, we talk a lot about magical moments – weddings immersed in nature, cosy cottage getaways, firelit feast nights, dog pool parties and lazy mornings in hot tubs. But behind every well-styled table, freshly made bed and joyful celebration, there’s a team of real people making the magic happen.
We’re a small, local team made up of passionate, down-to-earth people who genuinely care about what we do. And more importantly, who we do it for. Whether you’re here for a staycation, a special event, or the wedding of your dreams, it’s our goal to make it feel effortless, personal, and unforgettable.
So here’s a little peek behind-the-scenes – meet the people who bring Kilminorth to life.
It all started with a vision – Jayne
At the heart of Kilminorth is Jayne; the driving force behind the transformation of this ancient manor farm into the contemporary countryside retreat it is today. With a background in sales and marketing, she traded corporate life for a more grounded vision back in 2010, and poured her energy into building something different.
What she’s created isn’t just a venue or a place to stay. It’s a community, a sanctuary, and a space that feels both wild and considered. Jayne’s creativity and relentless attention to detail run through everything we do, from how a space looks, to how it makes you feel.
A Partnership built on purpose – Julie
Jayne’s partner, Julie, is our Non-Executive Director and brings an incredible depth of heart and experience to Kilminorth. Alongside her role here, she’s the CEO of a Plymouth-based charity that supports people in recovery from substance use, and her passion for wellness and compassion runs deep.
Julie plays a vital role in our business development and HR, and also brings her expertise to wellness-focused events and retreats hosted on-site. She’s a brilliant balance of business brain and soulful support, and part of what keeps Kilminorth grounded in people-first values.
Guest experience, with a smile – Becky
The first face you’re likely to meet when you arrive is Becky, our amazing Guest Experience Manager. She joined us in 2022 and has become a real cornerstone of the guest journey here at Kilminorth. From showing guests to their cottage and answering every “what time is check-out?” message with a smile, Becky’s here to make sure everything runs like clockwork. She’s thoughtful, calm, endlessly helpful, and the reason so many of our guests come back again and again.
Housekeeping with heart – Lisa
There’s clean… and then there’s Kilminorth clean. And that’s thanks to Lisa, our brilliant Head of Housekeeping. She joined the team in 2025 and has quickly proved herself as an incredible leader, organiser and all-round powerhouse. Lisa leads our guest-ready team with precision, ensuring that every cottage and event space feels like a breath of fresh air the moment you step in. She sets the tone for quality and care in every detail.
Keeping the outdoors picture-perfect – Matt
Since 2013, Matt has been our go-to for all things outdoors. He’s the one behind those perfectly kept lawns, and grounds that are always looking their best – rain or shine. Matt works closely with our gardening and maintenance teams, making sure Kilminorth’s 32 acres stay as beautifully wild and wonderfully well-kept as they should be. His dedication is felt all across the site.
Blooms, beauty and a visual eye – Ashley
Ashley joined us in 2023 and brings a serious eye for detail and design. With a background as a visual merchandiser at Harrods, she’s now one of the creative minds behind our styled events and garden settings. She’s the person placing centrepieces at events, tending to seasonal blooms across the estate, and quietly working behind the scenes to make Kilminorth feel alive with colour and charm.
Hot tubs, pools and chemical whizardry – Ralph
If you’ve enjoyed a soak in a perfectly balanced hot tub or a dip in our pool, you’ve got Ralph to thank. He’s been with us since 2022 and handles the maintenance and water care for all our wellness amenities. Ralph knows his stuff when it comes to chemical levels and system management, and is a key part of making sure every guest experience is safe, sparkling, and ready to dive into.
Fixes, finishes, and finding solutions – Mark
Mark is our behind-the-scenes fixer – the one who can mend, make or upcycle just about anything. Since joining the team in 2023, he’s become our go-to problem-solver, helping to keep our lodges and event areas looking (and functioning) at their best. From plumbing tweaks to clever repairs, Mark’s always working quietly in the background, making sure everything is just right.
The Wider Crew – The Ones Who Make It All Happen
While the people above are the core team you’ll see most often during your time here, there’s a whole extended Kilminorth crew who help keep everything running smoothly – and we couldn’t do it without them.
From our trusted seasonal team who join us during the busier months, to long-standing support staff and event assistants who help us prepare for feast nights, weddings and family fun days, these are the people who lift the weight with us. They turn around cottages with care, help set up our magical outdoor spaces, keep things looking fresh, and support guests in ways both big and small.
What makes Kilminorth special isn’t just the setting (though, let’s be honest – it is pretty special). It’s the people behind it all. We’re a local team with deep Cornish roots and a genuine love for this place – and for what we offer our guests. We also work closely with local suppliers, growers, producers, musicians and makers. We support one another, lift each other up, and take huge pride in making Kilminorth a place people feel at home in – whether they’re here for one night or a full wedding weekend.
Whether you’re booking your next break, planning your wedding, or joining us for a feast night or seasonal event, just know that there’s a whole team behind the scenes, ready to welcome you.
We’re proud of this place. Proud of the people who keep it moving. And proud to share it with you.
Come meet us. We’d love to welcome you to Kilminorth.
