Catering

Julie has worked for over 25 years supporting those who are living with significant trauma, substance misuse and mental health difficulties and understands the complexities that can arise when people are trying to rebuild their lives.

Julie transformed her own life from someone who experienced significant trauma, used substances for many years to block this out and then fought hard for her own journey into personal recovery and into the world of employment. She went on to work her way through the employment system, training as a counsellor, child and adolescent therapist and EMDR Specialist along the way. She has managed several Women’s projects and is now the CEO of Plymouth’s drug and alcohol service, Harbour. Julie knows more than most how navigating life, recovery, bringing up children, the menopause and most recently, breast cancer, can take its toll on a woman in a senior leadership role.

At times she has wanted to give it all up and has lost her confidence in her ability to function in the workplace. Julie and Rose have started these retreats, to give women the opportunity to surround themselves with like-minded individuals. Circumstances and lifestyle might all differ, but women can come together as they share the same wish - to rejuvenate, relax and restore the relationship with themselves.

Rose

Rose worked in the voluntary sector for over 20 years devising, developing and delivering services to people experiencing multiple disadvantages. As a senior manager and leader in the sector, she has been recognised for her achievements through various awards both locally and nationally.

In 2021, having worked through the Covid Crisis at the same time as struggling through her own menopause experience, Rose decided to begin prioritising her own well being and created her own freelance business, working with individuals and groups, to provide spaces in which people can stop and think about themselves in the context of their lives.

Rose facilitates reflective spaces, providing opportunities for people to think about where they currently are, where they actually want to be and what they want their lives to look and feel like. Rose supports and guides people to call on their own inner and external resources to be the change they wish to see in their own lives, whether that’s at work or in their personal lives. Sometimes that’s trying to balance the two as wellbeing leads to well doing.
Rose is a coach, an Internal Family Systems Practitioner, and a facilitator of thinking spaces such as reflective practice groups.

Rose is a poly vagal informed practitioner helping others to understand their stress responses and begin their own journey to befriending their nervous system.

Rose will support you to develop the resources and strategies to look after yourself in the way you have always wanted but never thought you had time to do!

Rose is a space holder, ritual maker and player of gongs! All in the spirit of healing!
