Here at Kilminorth, we pride ourselves on the experience we can offer families, couples, friends and of course our most important guests – our much-loved doggos. 

Last year, it was not only an honour to be shortlisted for “Dog Friendly Business of the Year” for the Cornwall Tourism Awards and a privilege for our hard work to be acknowledged, but we actually came away from the experience with a Silver Award. 

Owners, Jayne & Julie have commented, “This award means so much to us. We’re always striving to be one of the best dog-friendly holiday and wedding venues in the UK and this recognition is a testament to the hard work we continually put in for our guests – two and four legged!”

So, you might ask what makes us that dog-friendly?

Well, first of all our cottages are completely kitted out with all that our four-legged friends could need during their stay, inclusive of water/food bowl, collar tag with our details to wear during their stay (in case they go walkabout), poo bags, soap, a towel to be used with the doggy shower after a fun-filled day of exploring and a delicious treat on arrival.

In addition, we have 32 acres of land inclusive of wild meadows and enchanting woods, offering plenty of space for our four-legged friends to run wild. We have created beautiful walks with dog poo bins throughout the site to keep all of our guests happy. 

Not only that, but we are a stone’s throw away from plenty of dog-friendly beaches and attractions, all within a short drive from Kilminorth. If you fancy reading up on some of our favourite dog-friendly beaches, you can do so here.

Not only do we absolutely love having furry friends stay with us, but part of our dog-friendly approach is to take the stress away from dog owners. We understand that creating memories with a beloved family dog is so special and we very much encourage our guests to bring them with you to stay in our cottages and to weddings hosted here – providing the couple tying the knot are happy! Wedding celebrations can be a wonderful day but worries like “Where will the dog go?” and “Who will look after the dog if all of our family is invited?” can become overwhelming. This is why you have the option to bring them along with you – there aren’t very many wedding venues in Cornwall that are completely dog-friendly but we are delighted to be exactly that! In addition, finding the perfect dog boarders can be challenging and costly, so whether your pup is up for a chilled holiday or an explore around Cornwall, Kilminorth can offer just that.

Ensuring your pup is well-looked after, we have built an incredible relationship with the local vet here in Looe. Should your dog need any care whilst on their holidays, the vet will accept emergency appointments for all furry guests at Kilminorth.

We know it’s not always easy to pack light, and although we kit the cottages out ready for your dog, you might not always want to bring their bed or blanket with you, or perhaps you have even forgotten it?! Taking this into consideration, we are now proud stockists of Poppy & Teds – a gorgeous luxury dog goods brand who create quality and stylish products suitable for pups of all sizes! You’ll be able to purchase stock from our reception area – a nice little holiday treat for your dog!

We have recently built a brand-new bar which is located right next to open space with gorgeous views – the perfect spot here at Kilminorth for a beverage, or two! If you are popping down with your dog, be sure to ask for a dog-friendly beer as we now stock these behind our bar, as well as dog-friendly ice cream! I mean come on, it isn’t just you that deserves an ice cream whilst on your Cornish holidays.

It’s fair to say that the team here at Kilminorth are completely dog mad. They love to bring their dogs to work and it’s likely that on every visit, you’ll turn up and see a four-legged friend just roaming around – usually Rocky who likes to think he’s top dog around here! Your furry friend certainly won’t be short of a cuddle when staying here.
