We were absolutely thrilled to host Amber & Nathan’s unforgettable wedding weekend here at Kilminorth. Full of colour, laughter, laidback festival vibes, and the sweetest personal touches, their celebration truly captured everything we love about weddings – a gathering of friends and family, heartfelt moments, and memories to last a lifetime.

Amber and Nathan often told people they met through mutual friends, but the truth is, it all began on a dating app. From their very first chat, they just clicked. That spark took them all the way to Venice on their babymoon, where Nathan surprised Amber by getting down on one knee in a quiet corner of a Venetian palace-turned-museum. “I was completely shocked – and obviously said yes!” Amber says.

When it came to planning their wedding, the couple knew they wanted more than just a single day. They wanted a whole weekend surrounded by their favourite people. They found exactly what they were looking for here at Kilminorth, a tucked-away retreat on Cornwall’s south coast that gave them the perfect canvas for three days of celebrations.

“We love festivals and knew that we wanted to incorporate some festival style into our wedding,” Amber told us. 

From the relaxed welcome barbecue to the final evening by the firepit, the entire weekend had a fun, easygoing feel, axactly how they dreamed it would be. Amber’s vision combined earthy, boho-inspired florals with a playful pink and green palette. “Pink has always been my favourite colour. Even as a little girl, I said my bridesmaids would wear pink – and they did!”

Disco balls were scattered throughout the venue, adding a playful, party sparkle that perfectly matched the festival vibe. A pink campervan photo booth brought a retro twist, capturing so many brilliant snapshots of their guests throughout the night.

Their wedding day itself couldn’t have been more perfect. After a stormy Friday (complete with a legendary superstition moment where Amber planted a sausage in a plant pot – which she swears brought the sunshine!), Saturday dawned bright and glorious.

Guests arrived to the sound of a string trio, setting the scene for a heartfelt outdoor ceremony. Bridesmaids, along with Amber and Nathan’s beloved dog Gypsy, walked down the aisle to Here Comes the Sun. Amber followed to Until I Found You, before the couple made their exit as husband and wife to All You Need is Love – a sweet nod to Amber’s favourite film, Love Actually.

There was a particularly moving moment as a robin appeared during the ceremony and followed them back up the aisle. Amber and Nathan very sadly lost their son, Oakley, and they associate robins with him. “It truly felt like he was with us in that moment,” Amber shared.

Their reception was everything a summer celebration should be – canapés and drinks on the lawn, vibrant florals, garden games and plenty of laughter. Guests tucked into curries before enjoying evening pizzas, keeping the relaxed, festival-style atmosphere going all day long.

Amber and Nathan shared their first dance to Baby I’m Yours by Arctic Monkeys, spins they’d lovingly practised in their kitchen in the weeks before. Then, in a moment we’ll never forget, they took part in a space hopper race in full wedding attire, a hilarious highlight that had everyone cheering.

Their wedding weekend wrapped up on Sunday with bacon sandwiches, another laidback barbecue, and everyone gathering to watch England play in the Euros. As the sun set, the party drifted to the firepit, where they finished off the last of the drinks, soaking up those final moments with family and friends.

“It was the best end to the best weekend of our lives,” Nathan told us.

Looking back, Amber and Nathan both agreed that simply being surrounded by their favourite people was the most meaningful part of it all. “The speeches were amazing,” Amber said. “But it was also just looking around and realising we were surrounded by all our favourite people.”

Their advice to other couples planning a wedding? “Things will probably go wrong and you won’t care,” Amber laughed. “Just soak in every second. Don’t rush it. And if you can stretch it into a weekend, go for it! It truly was the best weekend of our lives.”
