That’s exactly what we’re bringing back this August at Kilminorth with our Summer Outdoor Cinema Nights. Whether you’re already staying with us, live nearby, or fancy making the trip down to our little pocket of Cornwall, these nights promise the perfect way to savour the season.

Two nights of unforgettable outdoor cinema

This August, we’re lighting up our valley for two evenings of film, laughter, and a truly special atmosphere. On Friday 8th August, we’ll be showing The Greatest Showman, and on Saturday 9th August, Wicked will take to the screen.

It’s the kind of setting that makes even a film you’ve seen a dozen times feel brand new – with festoon lights overhead, the fresh Cornish air around you, and a crowd all wrapped up in the same moment.

Open to everyone – guests, locals & those who love a Cornish adventure

Our outdoor cinema nights aren’t just for guests staying at Kilminorth (though if you are, it’s only a few steps from your cottage!). We’ve opened the gates wide to welcome our local community and anyone else who wants to experience something a little different.

So if you’re in Cornwall already, or you’re planning a trip down this way and looking for a reason to make a weekend of it – this is your sign. It’s a brilliant way to gather your favourite people, escape the usual routine, and do something memorable together.

The ultimate cosy night out

You can spread out your blanket, kick off your shoes, grab a drink and settle in as dusk rolls across the sky. It’s the kind of night where you forget to check your phone, where belly laughs come easily, and where you might just find yourself belting out a few songs under your breath.

Bring your favourite cosy layers (even the warmest Cornish days can give way to cool nights), a blanket or a low-backed chair, and get ready to fully lean into the laid-back magic of it all.

Drinks flowing, tasty food on hand

Of course, we couldn’t plan an evening like this without lining up some cracking local food and drink.

Our bar will be open throughout the evening, stocked with everything from bubbles to local ciders, crisp beers and soft drinks. It’s the perfect way to toast the night, whether that’s with a celebratory glass of fizz or something more casual.

And don’t worry about packing snacks. We’ll have delicious street food available to purchase on-site, so you can tuck into something warm and tasty while you watch the film. It all adds to the easy, festival-style vibe we love so much.

Stay the night & keep the good times rolling

If you really want to make the most of it, why not stay over? Kilminorth has 14 charming self-catering cottages – some with countryside views, all with plenty of space to unwind.

Make a weekend of it by arriving early, taking a dip in our outdoor pool,, exploring the grounds, or just kicking back on your terrace with a drink in hand before the evening’s fun starts. There’s something pretty special about wandering back to your cottage after the credits roll, a head full of songs and the night still stretched ahead of you.

Everyone’s welcome

These cinema nights are all about community and connection. They’re for couples on a relaxed date night, families sharing a blanket and snacks, groups of friends making new summer memories, and locals who just fancy a brilliant night out close to home.

We’ve planned them to be as easy and welcoming as possible. All you need to do is book your ticket, pack a few cosy bits, and turn up. We’ll take care of the rest.
